Steven Fletcher and Paul Mullin struck as Wrexham boosted their hopes of automatic promotion with a win over play-off hopefuls AFC Wimbledon.
The visitors had the better of the opening period, but Fletcher broke the deadlock midway through the second half with a superb volley at the far post from James McClean's corner.
McClean also sent in the cross that gave Mullin the chance to hammer home.
Wrexham rose a place to second while Wimbledon dropped three to 10th.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson:
"I thought we lacked urgency in the first half. It was almost a feeling of this will just take care of itself, but everybody knows in football you have got to make it happen as a team.
"We didn't quite get our press right and we have to work on that, but we worked hard enough to make sure it was 0-0 at half-time.
"Then second half I thought we responded really well. Sometimes when you are not at your fluent best, a set-play changes the flow of the game.
"It was a hard game, we knew it would be. We had to work hard today. We said it half-time we needed to up our game in certain areas and when we did that, it looked like we were the team who could go on and win the game."

Enjoyed the game apart from the result. I thought we did well 1st half sasu could have bagged one and Davison one on one might have made a better effort but I could sense the depth in Wrexham as it worn on. Bad defending 1st and Mullin did what all good strikers do and made a chance out of hard graft. Well played Wrexham I can see you winning league 2. I bear no grudge for your success well done!

From team site:
Attendance: 12,478 (1,119)**Highest home league attendance since 01/03/1980 against Shrewsbury Town.
It’s great to see the supporters who kept
the team alive able to enjoy success in person. Also must give the owners confidence to continue expansion towards a proper Championship facility. Growing the ticket revenue base will be key to competing at next level.W

Always going to be tough for the dons missing two key forwards but I thought they played well first half. Wrexham came through 2nd half as they often do. Bit of a gap starting at the top now

Injuries and discipline absences with key players seem to impact a lot of games. Most if not all of our losses have had multiple starters missing—especially early when Mullin had broken ribs.

Stockport, Wrexham and Stags almost looking odds on to go up automatically.
All three sides pretty consistent and look solid.P

Have to be honest and say that the Dons wooped us first half and just were not clinical enough. Great away support and good banter. The only worry for me was Wimbledons kit snd the nude shorts and socks. Their centre half wore short shorts too and frankly it was very disturbing

Wimbledon, like several teams lately, started stronger, looked to have more pace, but the more experienced Wrexham players seem better at not shooting too early and finishing. We only led in the shots on target and goals, the stat that matters most.
With his speed and size Sasu could be quite deadly if he gets better at finishing.

No complaints. Pity we didn't have our first team to choose from. Cope needs to work some January magic or we're heading for mid table

Well played Wrexham. Fletcher still looks great quality and Mullin just has the instinct for goals. I thought we (AFC) competed well for most of the game but didn't take our chances.
